3 New Modern Art Museums!

Have A Passion For Modern Art?  Get Ready!

Los Angeles’ star is quickly rising in the international art scene.  With many artists living and creating here, great art schools, multiple new galleries and vibrant neighborhoods, it is no surprise that Los Angeles is becoming a force to be reckoned with in the art world.  Adding to this exciting new landscape are three new modern art museums opening in 2017!

Opening May 25th 2017, Marciano Art Foundation is the passion project of Guess clothing creators Maurice and Paul Marciano.   The historic Windsor Square building that will house the museum has over 100,000 square feet of space.  Artists featured include: Doug Aitken, Jeff Koons and Anne Collier.

The Main Museum’s mission is to “engage the public with the most important ideas of our time through the art of Los Angeles.”  It will include a variety of exhibition galleries, studio spaces for resident artists and a rooftop plaza.  The massive complex in the Historic Core of Downtown Los Angeles will not be finished until 2018 but eager patrons can check out a smaller portion of the museum that is open called Beta Main.

Finally, opening September 9th, 2017 in the Arts District of DTLA is The Institute of Contemporary Art Los Angeles.   Created by the same team from the now closed Santa Monica Museum of Art, it will hold no permanent collections.  Instead, each show will be created entirely from scratch!
