Have you heard of Malibu’s Paradise Cove Mobile Home Park? Wait, Mobile Home Park in Malibu? Yup, thats right. But it’s definitely a stigma-busting oceanfront trailer park where it’s not uncommon for trailers to sell for more than a million dollars. These trailer parks now bring in a much richer crowd, with Porsches and primary residences elsewhere. Residents say a big selling point is that “the area represents an antidote, and at times a rebuke, to the sprawling estates of nearby Los Angeles (where most have their primary residences). The escape, and the stunning ocean views and beauty lifestyle that the mobile home park affords are a huge draw. Some of the neighboring and surrounding estates in the area sell for tens of millions, these trailers enjoy the same vistas for only a million and change in many cases. They have the same views of beach as some neighbors who paid $65 million for their homes. Although the core vibe of the park (laid back, beachscape, live by the beach) remains the same there has been a shift in the community. Many of the million dollar mobile homes have been remodeled with nothing short of the works: hardwood floors, granite counters, wood-burning fireplaces, with a short golf cart ride to the beach.
