November is here!  This month many of us are looking forward to spending time with our families for Thanksgiving – but for the less-fortunate it can be a struggle.  Here are four of  our favorite organizations that you can get involved with this season!

  1. 2018 Thanksgiving Day Baby Diapers Drive 4 Homeless & Low-Income Mothers

Who: PASADENA-ALTADENA COMMUNITY YOUTH ASSOCIATION

What: Joyful volunteers meet up to support World Famous DTLA Baby Diapers Bank” Baby diaper drive” bring a box of baby diaper any size and or baby wipes to be given out to homeless/poor mothers with babies that live in Downtown Los Angeles, CA Pasadena, CA Long Beach, CA, Skid Row, CA

Where: Gladys Park, 808 E.6th Street Los Angeles, CA 90021

When: Wednesday November 21 from 11:30 – 12:30

  1. Read to children in Downtown Los Angeles

Who: Reading to Kids

What: Reading to Kids organizes monthly reading clubs on the second Saturday of every month at eight downtown Los Angeles elementary schools. The reading clubs run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pairs of volunteer readers read aloud to small groups of students from the elementary school (typically between 4 and 6 children per group) in a fun environment.

Where: Downtown Los Angeles

When: November 10th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (And every 2nd Saturday each month)

  1. Raise awareness for brain-tumor resources with Brain Freeze

Who: National Brain Tumor Society

What: The National Brain Tumor Society is seeking volunteers for the inaugural Los Angeles Brain Freeze happening Saturday, November 3rd, at Hermosa Beach Pier Plaza. Many volunteer opportunities are available for the event. Individuals as well as large groups such as service clubs are welcome. The more the better!

  1. Walk homeless dogs

Who: Jimi’s Angels

What: Bark N’ Bitches is a pet retail shop/ adoption center.  Every morning they look for volunteers to help walk their rescue dogs.  People can also help foster dogs as well.

Where: 505 N. Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036

When: Every morning at 10 am.
