Architecture and Design Trends 2018

Whether you’re renovating your current home, redesigning your living space or building from the ground up these are the trends you’ll being everywhere soon!

A-Frame

A-Frames were immensely popular in the 60’s and 70’s and then died down in popularity.  Now they’re back with strikingly modern twist and the added benefit of being economical, environmentally low-impact and cute like tiny houses.

Cape Cod Modern

Originating in the 17th century and then a revival in the 1940’s, a Cape Cod house is a low, broad, single-story frame building with a moderately steep pitched gabled roof, a large central chimney, and very little ornamentation.  Now they’re back in fashion with modean open-concept layout and a lot of charm.

Purple Décor

Pantone, the leader in deciding what color is best has selected Ultra Violet — a deep, moody purple that the company claims reflects the cosmos, artistic brilliance and spiritual reflection.  Now we’re seeing it everywhere to add a punch of color to interiors.

Curves

In the upcoming year, we can expect to see an influx of softer, more organic curves versus the popular sharp-edge designs in all types of furniture from armchairs to bar carts to rugs.
