Unconventional LA Workouts

Fun & Uncommon Ways to Workout This Summer

Summer is upon us!  And with the sunny days and warm weather there is no better time to try a new workout! With all of our glamorous celebrities, artists and “beautiful people” Angeleno fitness culture leads the world in new and funky ways to get a sweat on! Whether you’re looking to feel good and have some fun or you want to chisel your body into a replica of a Greek statue, there is something for everyone in our beautiful city!

Do you like yoga?  Have you ever wished you could downward dog completely in the nude? Well wish no further, Naked Yoga LA has you covered (or uncovered… so to speak). Leave your Lulu Lemons at the door, you won’t need them here!  Naked Yoga LA offers completely nude co-ed classes.  Feeling a little modest but still long to be nude? Naked Yoga LA also offers private sessions.

Not quite ready for the naturism movement? Los Angeles has a plethora of magnificent outdoor spaces to work your glutes in nature (clothing usually required).  Located in the center of Los Angeles is hiking lover’s Griffith Park.  With 4,300 acres full of trails, paths and fire roads you’ll never run out of new places to discover!  Favorite hikes include the Mount Lee trail to the iconic Hollywood Sign (6.5 miles) and the West Griffith Observatory trail (an easy-to-moderate two miles that take you up to Griffith Observatory). Prepare to see wildlife, including foxes, coyotes, deer, and even rattlesnakes!

If you dream of a pilates-inspired class that has a transformers-y vibe look no further than Lagree Fitness Studio.  Touting themselves as the “only patented workout in Los Angeles,” classes use a machine called the Supraformer. Be ready to work hard and sweat hard, but get the strength and tone you desire – both mentally and physically. This 50-minute, high octane, shirt-drenching workout will improve strength and muscular endurance, increase cardio respiratory endurance, jump-start the metabolism, improve flexibility and postural alignment, and change your body’s composition.
