Where to See Christmas Lights in Los Angeles 2020

Holidays In Your Car

Ventura County Fairgrounds has hosted drive-in movies and concerts, and now is adding another car-friendly series to its lineup: Christmas lights. Starting November 22, Holidays In Your Car will bring some seasonal festivities into a drive-thru setting. The mile-and-a-half-long trail mixes indoor elements, such as lasers and projections, with outdoor displays similar as light tunnels and freestanding characters. Timed tickets cost $49 for a vehicle with up to four people in it, and $64 for five or more passengers. This event will last until Saturday, January 2nd, 2021. The Elf on the Shelf’s Magical Holiday Journey

With its rosy cheeks and its definitely-knows-too-much eyes, the Elf on the Shelf has become a Christmastime staple in living rooms. And now, like pretty much all holiday traditions this year, the spy elf is headed to the drive-thru. The hour-long experience puts you on an elf-sized quest in Pomona to fix Santa’s sleigh, with easy-to-follow narration and music available via a smartphone app. It’s doubtful you’ll find another light-up experience with as much of an emphasis on live actors. You’ll see delightfully-committed elves measuring your car’s Christmas spirit, juggling pins or balancing on a tightrope of oversized lights—and even one who’ll accept your letter to Santa. This event will last until Sunday, January 3rd, 2021. For more details, visit the website: elfontheshelfjourney.com

Six Flags Magic Mountain Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience

For this year’s Christmas, some locations have flipped their parking lots into drive-thrus or drive-ins. But in the case of Six Flags, they’re converting the actual Valencia theme park into one. Magic Mountain’s annual after-hours event Holiday in the Park will allow guests to drive their cars along the park’s pathways and past illuminated displays. Expect dancing lights set to holiday tunes, 30-foot-tall ornaments, fake snow, appearances from Santa and Mrs. Claus, and a car show from West Coast Customs. Try to nab an early-evening weekday ticket to avoid bumper-to-bumper traffic the whole way. This event will last until Sunday, January 31st, 2021.
